Cool breezes at sea require a reasonably warm sweater – the Atlantica summer sweater is knitted from a blend of linen, cotton and viscose and has three-quarter sleeves. The stripes are given structure by using raised stitches, an easy way to bring a striped sweater to life.
The ribbed edges are extra neat with twisted stitches and the whole sweater is worked from the top down, so you can easily try out a length that suits you! This is how Annelie Verbrugge describes her fantastic design Atlantica summer sweater.

The recommended yarn for this sweater is Svarta Fårets Cecilia, a lovely yarn in cotton viscose and linen, if you prefer to adapt your sweater to cool summer evenings or autumn days, you can choose a wool yarn with the same stretch as Cecilia (220 m/100 g) but keep in mind that a change of yarn can give a different appearance of the sweater. To sum up, this is the optimal sweater for every conceivable occasion, why not knit one in each material and one in each color?

Ground color: 280, 310, 340 (370, 410, 450) 500, 550, 600 g, or 620, 690, 750 (820, 910, 990) 1100, 1210, 1320 m of yarn in DK thickness (approx. 220 m /100 g): 80, 90, 90 (100, 110, 130) 140, 150, 170 g, or 180, 200, 200 (220, 250, 290) 310, 330, 380 sts of DK weight yarn (approx. 220 sts / 100 g).Keep in mind that if you knit the sweater with short sleeves, you will use a smaller amount of yarn than indicated.
Knitting needles
40 and 80 – 120 cm circular needle: 3.0 mm (elastic)
Circular knitting needles 40, 60 and 80 – 120 cm: 3.5 mm (plain and textured knitting)
3.0 and 3.5 mm double pointed needles (elastic, plain and textured)
Gauge
20 sts x 29 rows = 10 cm in stockinette stitch with textured stripes (see steps 1-4 on page 4), worked in the round on 3.5 mm needles.
Always use a needle size that gives you the correct gauge.
Accessories
